Description

Are you looking for an easy, no-prep way to ensure your French kindergarten students master andĀ retainĀ what you teach them during your math lessons? Math journals are a simple, efficient, and effective way to incorporate spiral review into your math block, each and every day!

In this resource, you will find my set of February French Math Journal Prompts, ready to print and use in your kindergarten classroom.

There areĀ 30 different promptsĀ in all, covering a wide variety of skills and concepts. I have included patterning, comparing sets, measurement, and number sense (up to 10) prompts in this set.

There are also a couple of “tricky” prompts included, to really get your kinders thinking!

CLICK HERE TO GRAB THIS RESOURCE AS PART OF A BUNDLE AND SAVE 20 ƉTOILES!

Each page includes 20 copies of a single prompt with a February theme (Valentine’s Day, Groundhog Day, Chinese New Year, etc.). Feel free to use all of the prompts throughout the month, or just those that work for your students.

This resource requires NO PREP!Ā Just print and go!Ā I cut the prompts and place them on each students’ desk while circulating as my students are answering the daily prompt.

This resource includes:

  • 5 journal prompts aboutĀ patterningĀ (2-3 elements)
  • 18 questions aboutĀ number senseĀ (numbers 1-10 –> putting numbers together, taking them apart, drawing the correct amount of objects)
  • 2 questions aboutĀ comparing amountsĀ (plus, moins, autant)
  • 4 questions aboutĀ comparing sizesĀ (plus grand, plus petit, la mĆŖme taille)
  • 1 more “tricky” prompts that require some extraĀ logic & critical thinking skills

I like to use journal prompts from concepts taught all year long during math journal time. This way, concepts donā€™t get ā€œforgottenā€, or are no longer seen once they are taught.Ā And it only takes 5-10 minutes a day!

Students will listen to/read the word problem, glue it into their math journal, and draw the answer. I have included detailed instructions on how math journal time runs in my classroom but feel free to use these prompts in whatever way works for your students.

You can use math journals whole group, small group, as a math centre, as morning work, homework, exit tickets, and more!

I have based the prompts on Nova Scotia’s kindergarten curriculum outcomes, but they may be applicable to other grades.

*This download entitles the purchaser to use it in ONE classroom only. Thank you so much for respecting my time and effort!*
