Looking for a fun, engaging centre activity for your French primary students that focuses on fine motor, literacy, and counting skills… and is EASY to prep? Try these fun French, Autumn-themed pompom mats!
Your students will love building the pictures and completing the tasks on each mat. With a variety of options, all of your students are sure to find success. And you will love that all you have to do to prep them is print and laminate, or slide into a page protector!
There are two options for each mat:
Option 1: Place, count, and write
For these mats, students will place pompoms of the same colour on each circle to build the picture. I like to get my students to use tweezers to really help their finger muscles! Then, they will trace the vocabulary word, count and write how many pompoms of certain colours were used, and write either a math equation OR rewrite the name of the object, using the traced word as a guide.
Option 2: Build the picture
Students will use the legend on the left side to build each picture, working on fine motor skills and practicing discriminating visually between letters.
This resource includes:
- 10 “place, count, and write” fine motor mats
- 10 “build the picture” fine motor mats
- No cutting required to prep any of the 20 mats!
