Description
If your French primary students still have some tricky letters of the alphabet left to master, theseĀ auto-populating, easy-to-differentiate speed reading sheetsĀ are just what you need!
Simple to create and prepare, they are sure to make your life easier!
This resource includes:
- 36 auto-populating pagesĀ with a variety of themes
- 12 of the 36 pages are for practicing 3 letters at a timeĀ (3×3 grid)
- 12 of the 36 pages are for practicing 4 letters at a timeĀ (4×4 grid)
- 12 of the 36 pages are for practicing 5 letters at a timeĀ (5×5 grid)
- 3 pages of teacher instructions/tips/suggestions
- 1 page where you will type in the target letters; they will then auto-populate and fill the rest of the pages automatically
How does this resource work?
To prep your sheets, firstĀ evaluate your studentsĀ to see which letters they have left to master. Then, decide if you want your student to work on 3, 4, or 5 letters at a time.
I like to include known letters in the sheet with just one or two new letters. So, if a student starts out only knowing X and O, for example, I might choose X, O, and S for their sheet. You can mix and match upper- and lowercase letters as well.
>>> When you type the letters on the first page, they will āauto populateā and fill all the pages!Ā You can then choose a theme/sheet for your student and print it. You can easily switch up the letters from any page and print more – just note that what you change on one page will change on all pages :)
I have *attempted* to embed the font that I used, so you shouldnāt need to download anything. In case that doesnāt work, the font is calledĀ KG Primary PenmanshipĀ and is a free download (for personal use) on TPT.
IMPORTANT NOTE:Ā IN ORDER TO TYPE IN THE BOXES, YOU MUST DOWNLOAD THIS FILE TO YOUR COMPUTER AND OPEN IT IN ADOBE!Ā It will NOT work if you open it in your browser window (often the default)!
Adobe Reader is a free download you can get from the Adobe website :)
What will your students do?
To use the sheets, provide students with a pointer. The will read from left to right, with Ā« le retour Ć la ligne suivante Ā» each letter, as fast as they can.
With practice, they should become very quick, and you can then add more new letters and/or different letters and reprint.
You can save your edits by saving each one as a new pdf document in Adobe, if you want.
Can this resource be used for distance teaching?
This is a pdf document – it is NOT formatted for Google Slides or other distance teaching sites.
But!Ā You CAN post student pages from this product on a PASSWORD-PROTECTED site like Google Classroom. You CANNOT post this on a public site that anyone can access. Thanks!!
Is this resource editable?
Partially! You can change the target letters any time and as many times as you want inside Adobe.
Note that when you change a letter on one page, it will change that letter on all pages.
If you want to save your changes, just choose “Save As…” in the save menu and change the title of the document.
The clip art, size of the boxes/letters, instructions, etc. are NOT editable.
Is this resource thematic?
Yes! Sheets include a variety of themes for the entire school year, such as school, autumn, Halloween, Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Birthday, Winter, Groundhog’s Day, Spring, Easter, Summer, and more! Check out the video preview above to see all 36!
*This download entitles the purchaser to use it in ONE classroom only. Thank you so much for respecting my time and effort!*
