FRENCH Pattern Block Puzzle Cards 2D Shapes

Looking for ways to develop spatial skills in your primary students? Want to encourage them to see some of the amazing things you can compose with pattern blocks?

These fun French pattern block puzzles will get your students excited to build and create!

This resource includes a mix of pattern block puzzle cards for everyday objects and mandalas. Each card shows students how many of each block they will need to build the design. Students will gather the blocks they need, and then build the object, using the picture as a guide.

To prep this centre, simply print, laminate, and cut. Your students will only need pattern blocks to complete each puzzle (not included). They will choose a card and use the pattern blocks to build the object.

Each card includes:

• A list of which blocks students will need in order to complete the puzzle, and how many
• An image showing students where to place each block in order to build the puzzle
• Cards for real-life objects also include a clip art image of the object
• Cards are printed two per page, to save on ink
• You can keep the cards loose, or hole-punch them in the top-left corner and put them on a binder ring
• All cards are rectangular for easy cutting using a paper cutter

This math centre is great way for students to practice seeing how we can make new things by combining a variety of other shapes! Building objects with pattern blocks also allows students to explore different attributes and characteristics of the shapes they see every day.
