These activity sheets work on decoding AND spelling, as students will use a magnifying glass (not included) to search for and rewrite the 10 decodable words hidden in each Saint Patrick’s Day-themed picture.

- 10 activity sheets for a variety of decodable words (10 words/page, 2-5 letters/word)
- an answer key
- All of the words included are words that students who know the sounds of the alphabet should be able to decode quite easily
You can do these sheets whole-group (if you have enough magnifying glasses), or use them as a literacy centre (that’s what I do)!
Once your students find all 10 words, they can colour the picture.
This activity is my secret weapon for getting my students excited about practicing letter formation and decoding!
