Do your students need some time to independently practice their sens du nombre? Would you like to encourage them to become more efficient at subitizing and recognizing numbers without needing to count and reflect? Here is an egg-gaging centre to get your students practicing their number sense skills and numeral recognition as they place the spring eggs inside the correct nest!
Prep is simple – just cut out and laminate the nests that you prefer (number word or numeral) and all of the eggs. Students will sort the eggs into the correct nest. Straightforward, effective, and fun!
This math centre includes a “carte Je peux” to help foster student independence. Just print it, laminate it, and add it to the bin – if your students forget what to do during the centre, they can just check the directions!
Each nest includes four eggs:
❃ one with the numeral
❃ one with a ten frame
❃ one with a domino(s)
❃ one with counting fingers
Help your students learn to recognize the same number in a variety of ways!
