Part 1: Apprendre les mots fréquents:

I have grouped 90 “mots d’haute fréquence” into groups of 10 and assigned each list a colour. Each list has a flash card for each word (to be put on a binder ring) as well as flash cards with 11 different sentences using words from the list to practice fluency and learning the words in context.

The lists build in difficulty, and the sentence cards use words from each of the preceding lists as well. These resources are essential for teaching your students over 90 sight words and 9 different blends!

Part 2: Apprendre les sons composés:

In this resource, I have organized 9 different “sons composés” into 9 lists. Each list focuses on one particular sound, and each list is a certain colour.

The lists all have flash cards with 11 different sentences. These sentences are full of words from the list. They allow students to practice fluency and learning the sounds in context. There is also a set of flash cards with each sound in isolation.

The lists build on each other, and the sentence cards may use words and/or sounds from the preceding lists as well. Students LOVE moving their way through and mastering each list!

Part 3: Digital Add-Ons:

If you end up teaching virtually, or just prefer sending your lists home digitally, these add-ons will be perfect for you! All of the sight word lists + sight word/son composé sentences are included as colourful Google Slides™ that you can assign via Google Classroom™ or by sending families a “share” link.

This French sight words and sounds resource also includes:

  • Flash cards that can be printed out on card stock of the corresponding colour, hole punched and put on binder rings in groups of 10 to be sent home or used in class for practice
  • Corresponding sentence cards that build in difficulty and allow students to practice only the words they have seen so far
  • Evaluation sheets for gathering progress data
  • Certificates for when a student masters a colour list
  • Progress sheets (colour and black & white options) that each student can colour in as they master each list

What are other teachers saying about this French sight words and sounds BUNDLE?

⭐ “I used this as a core French (FSL) packet, and it was so fun. My students loved having packets of sight words like they had in first grade! The games, etc. were also engaging.” – Hone It Canada

⭐ “I love how students are able to work through the levels at their own pace. Those who need extra time with learning to read can have it, and those that are ready for challenges can have that too!” – Michelle J.

⭐ “This bundle has it all! Both the print and digital are wonderful to have in class. It was a great transition from letter sounds to blended sounds. Then working on to the sight words. Students were successful and have a great sense of pride. The accompanying certificates are also a great add on, as well as the games. The colour coding system has been super helpful too with staying organized. Love Love this bundle!” – Antonella G.
