To prep: Print, cut, and laminate (if you plan to reuse) the desired strips. There are strips for a bunch of “themes” – choose them all or just the ones you like. I do suggest printing on card stock; you can print the black & white strips on brightly coloured card stock to save on ink!

If you laminate the cards, students will be able to write on them with a dry erase marker and/or use letter tiles to indicate the beginning letters. Then, they can reuse the same cards over and over.

Students can use lots of different things to record the letters – magnetic letters, white board markers, bottle caps, letter tiles, and more!

This set includes 39 different strips. Each strip is available in both colour and black & white.

There is also an optional recording sheet that your students can use to record the beginning letters they solve.

*NOTE: There is no answer key for this resource, so your students are free to use whichever word for an object they are familiar with. For example, for scarf, they could write “é” for écharpe or “f” for foulard, depending on the vocabulary word they use, and be correct either way.

*This download entitles the purchaser to use it in ONE classroom only. Thank you so much for respecting my time and effort!*
