Looking for a simple, effective routine for helping your students practice decoding, comprehending, and writing French words containing simple vowel sounds (vowels represented by one letter)?

These French worksheets have been designed to give students a fun way to practice reading new words made up of sounds that are represented by only one letter, as well as tracing/writing simple sentences.

Students will each read the sentence, show that they comprehend the sentencetrace the sentence, and then write the sentence independently (1-2 times depending on sentence length).

Each page contains a “mots-outils” section (sight words that can either be sounded out one letter at a time OR sight words that must be memorized (ex. et, des)).

This resource includes:

  • 10 sentences for each of the following vowels: Aa, Ee, Ii, Oo, Uu, Éé
  • 60 pages in all!

These worksheets will be decodable for students who know their letter sounds and the following sight words: et, y, les, des, un, une, c’est. Silent letters are written in gray.
