I’ve structured this TeachAlong™ in four blocks. Here’s the breakdown:

BLOCK 1

In Block 1, “Let’s Get Ready,” I will explain how to start planning your centres with the end in mind, what my centre time structure is and how to build your students’ stamina, and how to set up “foundation centres” in your classroom. You’ll also get the first two resources and the beginning of the growing course guide.

BLOCK 2

During Block 2, “Let’s Teach Procedures,” the focus this week is all about teaching procedures and expectations to our students. The growing course guide will be updated to include mini-lessons for helping you teach procedures, and several more new resources will be released.

BLOCK 3

This is the “choose your own adventure” block that spans five weeks, called “Let’s Switch It Up”: You’ll get a weekly overview lesson that includes two videos that explain the two (or more) new centres activities released! You can pick and choose which centre activity to use in your classroom each week.

BLOCK 4

Finally, we’ll reach the last week of the TeachAlong™, “Let’s Keep Going,” in which we’ll discuss next steps for how to continue literacy centres for the rest of the school year. All TeachAlong™ members will receive one booster pack with an extra eight resources, but there will be additional purchase options for two optional booster packs on top of that! The course guide will be complete by this time.

Q: What does it mean that the TeachAlong™ is “self-paced”?

A: When I say “self-paced,” I mean that you will go through this course independently. I have only run this course live once in the past, but with all courses now, in order to access the live run, you need to be a member of my Enseignons ensemble membership at that time. If you’re purchasing the course here, then you can work through the videos, guides, and weekly overviews at your own pace!

Q: What if I already own a lot of your resources? Will it still be worth it?

A: In a word, YES! My goal is to make sure that it will be worth it for anyone who wants to join. I aim to price my TeachAlongs™ so that they’re less than the value of the included resources, in case teachers already own some of the resources! The TeachAlong™ also contains TONS of videos that explain exactly how I use the resources and exactly how I would teach in my own classroom, and they are full of tips for your classroom and students.

Q: What about math/health/other subjects?

A: This TeachAlong™ is very focused on literacy centres! While you can certainly take the basic framework of my centres structure and apply it to math or other subjects instead, I chose to focus this TeachAlong™ very specifically on using centres to engage students in literacy activities, since students being able to work independently at literacy centres allows you to pull small groups for focused instruction in reading or writing. Throughout this TeachAlong™, we will not be discussing any other subjects.

Q: What is your refund policy?

A: Due to the digital nature of the course and the materials inside it, I do not grant refunds.
